QA just finished its 3rd annual Summer Chamber Music Institute at the Music Institute of Chicago:
This was the best year of chamber camp yet!!! We had 15 members sign up for our 5-day camp. Groups assigned were 2 trios and 2 quintets, and everyone in those groups performed in a bigger ensemble as well, either a sextet or a nonet. Music performed ranged from Scott Joplin's Elite Syncopations to a Mozart Divertimento and Gounod's Petite Symphonie for 9 instruments. Everyone had a chance to play alongside members of Quintet Attacca as well.
The week included master classes on communication, musicianship, and performance practice. We had an amazing bunch of kids and the concert was a smash hit. We can't wait to see what happens next year!
